Roundtable: Master Coaches discussion and comments about Penn State.

Coach Joe Paterno before the Wisconsin game.

Bo Schembechler: "Well it all starts with the quarterback play of Robinson. He is a much improved passer and has really been the key for their offense. He is a great runner and been accurate enough with his passes. He is not making as many mistakes as he has in the past. Tony Hunter has been a solid running back... tough runner. Their line up front is blocking well and they are alot more unpredictable than they have been in the past. They are throwing more on 2nd and short which has made them alot more difficult to defend. They have more than a couple of fast wide receivers and they spread you out with their passing game. And as always, they know how to play defense ...they are a pretty good defensive ballclub."

George Welsh: "Let me say this about Penn State....having watched Penn State thruogh the years, they have better skill kids than I have ever seen, even with Williams out injured, that has helped Robinson alot and they can go deep now and make catches and make big plays. They are mixing up and using different offensive formations .... making it very difficult on the defenses they are playing against."

John Cooper: "I agree with what Bo said... they have some pretty good receivers ... even with Williams out. I like Justin King and Deon Butler.... they both are quick receivers. The running back, Hunter, is a fine runner. They are just playing sound football all the way around. They are doing like alot of other teams now running the spread offense.... spreading you out and running up inside. It is going to take a very good football team to beat them. Robinson is just not making the mistakes at the quarterback position and it has made them a much better football team this year."

Dick MacPherson: "I think Joe has turned over the offense to Galen Hall and that has made them a much more unpredictable team to coach against this season as opposed to previous years. They coming out in much more different alignments and formations which is makes it very hard to defend."

Bo Schembechler: "Other than their uniforms, they're fun to watch!!"

John Robinson: "If they took a vote today for coach of the year, it should be Joe Paterno. He has done one helluva coaching job this year."
