Master Coaches Award MCS Nike Game Balls for Week 5 (10/02/2007 08:00)
Each week during the 2007 college football season, the 17 Master Football Coaches will award an MCS Nike Game Ball to the respective schools of a National Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week. The Master Coaches will also present a game ball to the offensive and defensive coordinator whose game plans made the biggest impact in their respective teams' victory.

LSU edges past USC for No. 1 (09/30/2007 11:00)
The Master Coaches moved LSU back to No. 1 in their poll, this time the Tigers stand alone. Last week's top team USC managed to squeak past Washington 27-24 in Seattle on Saturday. But their lackluster performance provided LSU the opportunity to regain their No. 1 ranking. After a sloppy first half, the top-ranked Tigers shut out Tulane in the second half of the game and LSU defeated their in-state rival 34-9.
Weekend Preview: (6) California at (10) Oregon (09/28/2007 10:30)
The battle for No. 2 in the Pac-10 conference is slated for this weekend. The No. 6 Cal Golden Bears head to Eugene to play No. 10 Oregon in a match-up that is sure to put a lot of points on the board. Both teams average over 40 points per game and rank in the top three in the Pac-10 in that category. Oregon got thumped last year 45-24, so they will be looking for revenge come Saturday afternoon.

The surprisingly tough Big East will showcase two of its best teams on Friday night. The showdown pits No. 5 West Virginia against a fast-rising No. 18 South Florida team. The Bulls of South Florida host the game in Tampa and will play in front of their first-ever sell out crowd in Raymond James Stadium.
