"The best position in the draft this year from top to bottom is tight end," Coach John Cooper said. "For the NFL teams that need a tight end, this is the year to get one."

Vernon Davis of Maryland leads the way for the tight ends and could be taken in the first round. "His stats are off the board. This guy can fly, and the most impressive thing he does is what he does after the catch," Cooper said.

Marcedes Lewis is the second rated tight end in the draft. "He is a heck of an athlete. He probably has the best hands of anybody in the class," Cooper said of Lewis.

The tight end with the biggest upside is Leonard Pope out of Georgia. "He needs to work on his blocking and catching the ball more consistently, but his size is a factor," Coach Cooper added.

This
draft will be very interesting for the tight ends coming out.
