Master Coaches Survey Mock Draft - Round 1
All week long, the Master Coaches have broken down the 2006 NFL Draft, position-by-position:
DE - DT - LB - DB - QB - WR - TE - RB - OL
The Master Coaches unaminously agreed that Reggie Bush is the best player in the draft, and the Houston Texans should pick him first overall. They also believe that Matt Leinart is the best quarterback, although they agree that Vince Young is a bonified winner. "The Tennessee Titans should take Leinart. Norm Chow knows him, and he has run the pro-style offense," Master Coach John Cooper said.
Master Coach Gene Stallings is very fond of Antonio Cromartie. The MCS believes that his upside should prompt the St. Louis Rams, who need a defensive back, to pick Cromartie 11th overall. Another shocking pick would be the 21st overall pick for the New England Patriots. The MCS Mock Draft selects Laurence Maroney ahead of DeAngelo Williams. |

"I think the second best running back is Laurence Maroney out of Minnesota. He was very productive for Glenn Mason's offense the last three years," John Cooper said. The Master Coaches believe that LenDale White has work ethic issues and believe he will drop the most, falling completely out of the first round.
On the offensive line, the MCS believes that D'Brickashaw Ferguson can step in next year and play at left tackle. Winston Justice is a great player, despite the off the field issues, and he should be taken in the top 10 along with Ferguson.
