“Michigan is one of the great comeback stories of the year,” BYU legend LaVell Edwards said.  “They have a good defense returning from last season and have really improved in all other areas of the game.”

“They find ways to win,” Coach Edwards said of the No. 3 ranked Trojans.  “It appears that they are getting back to the SC of old, running the football and pounding the defense.”

“Since losing to the No. 1 team in the nation (Ohio State), they have gotten better every week,” former Texas A&M coach R.C. Slocum said.  “They have the benefit of having lost early to a great team.  In my mind, they deserve the No. 5 ranking and may be even higher than that.”
