Heard on the conference call (November 9 ):

...Don James said, "Miami played unbelievable to go on the road and hold VA Tech to under 200 yards offense, cause six turnovers, and with our end zone copy of the DVD to watch from ESPN U telecast, Marcus Vick threw repeatedly into coverage... he could have five interceptions instead of two, it was just an incredible performance."

...George Welsh said, "Miami did some things that were different from what I have seen from earlier games. They went to some unbalanced formations which negated some of the things that VA Tech likes to do ... like blintzing and stunts on defense. The other thing that I had not seen until this game was Miami had Marcus Vick jittery back there when he went to pass. Their pass rush was a factor early in the game and helped cause those turnovers."

...John Robinson said, "USC is not a dominate defensive ball club but they are improving in that area and getting healthy for the most part. Their offense is just phenomenal .... they can run right at you or throw over the top of you. I will be doing the game this week against California for radio and think this will be an interesting test for them. Cal has been running the ball well. They should be too much for Cal but we will have to wait and see how this contest turns out."
