.... Dick MacPherson said, "The things that USC are doing on offense are unbelievable, and they are getting better defensively, therefore, I am moving them back in front of Texas."

....Gene Stallings said, "Texas played poorly to start out the game against Oklahoma State. But as all good teams... great teams do they came back to beat Oklahoma by the score 48-27 and probably could have beat them alot worse. It was disappointing to see they didn't play well to start the game and I am not really sure why that happened. I still think they are the best team in the country even though didn't show much in the first half against Oklahoma State."
